Bicycle Outfits Design Contest
Background
Increasing popularity of cycling has led more people to choose cycling as their mode of transport in their daily life in urban areas. With Thailand’s hot and humid climate, it’s a challenge to design outfits that is both fit for cycling and suitable for daily routine.
Bicycle Outfits Design Contest is then an attempt to address this need for men and women to have outfits that are not only wearable in real life, not just for fashion show, but also convenient and safe for cycling.
Objectives
To stimulate aspiration in the design of outfits for cycling in daily life that could go into production.
Qualifications of Contestants
Being a student of higher education or a member of the public in general.
Design Criteria
Any submitted design must be able to be produced as outfits that are wearable in daily life, convenient and safe for cycling, and beautiful.
Rules on Design Submission
1. Each contestant needs to submit his/her designs of outfits that are wearable in daily life, convenient and safe for cycling, and beautiful.
2. Submission of designs must be made in a package consisting of:
2.1 A mood board that shows source(s) and concept(s) of the submitted designs on A3 paper.
2.2 Sketches of the 10 designed outfits, five for men and five for women, on A3 paper.
2.3 Outfit patterns that give details in technical drawing for each of the ten designed outfits.
3. The designs have to come from the contestant’s own creativity and are not copies or adaptation of other designs from elsewhere or any winning designs. Any submission that breaks this rule would be considered as null and void even when this is established after winning this contest, resulting in the award being stripped.
4. Five designs chosen to go to the final round will be financially supported to be turned into real outfits and will be shown with models in the 4th Thailand Bike and Walk Forum at the Bangkok Arts and Culture Center in March 2016.
Timetable
Designs can be submitted till 30th December 2015 through post service, in an envelop masking at a corner “(Bicycle Outfits Design Contest)”, taking the date of stamping on their envelop into consideration, to mailing address of Thailand Cycling Club:

Intellectual Property Right
All the winning designs are under intellectual property right of the Walking and Cycling Policy Actualization Project which authorizes Thailand Cycling Club to do public relations and turn them into production.

Awards
1. First Prize: 30,000 Baht in cash and certification
2. Second Prize: 20,000 Baht in cash and certification
3. Third Prize: 10,000 Baht in cash and certification
4. Commended Prize (2): 5,000 Baht each in cash and certification

1. Faculty member from the Department of Textile, Faculty of Agricultural Industry, Kasetsart University, in Bangkok.
2. Faculty member from the Department of Visual Arts Design, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Srinakharinwirot University, in Bangkok.
3. Faculty member and architect from the Faculty of Architecture, Chiang Mai University, in Chiang Mai City.
4. Representative from Bunka Fashion Institute.
5. Representative from Tourism Authority of Thailand.
6. Representative from Thailand Creative & Design Center.
7. Representative from company that designs and produce bicycles.
8. Representative from the group of people who use bicycle in daily life.
